Our curriculum is broad, rich and deep; we are determined that it promotes respect, tolerance and diversity. Children are encouraged to share their views and recognise that they are entitled to have their own different beliefs which should not be used to influence others.
Staff and children at Waberthwaite School follow the programmes of study from the National Curriculum 2014. As children are taught in mixed age classes, teachers plan from a rolling programme, meaning that topics and themes are taught in a cycle to ensure that all children are taught all elements of the National Curriculum with as little repetition as possible, and ensuring appropriate progression. Please note these themes are only a guideline and teachers are free to vary either the theme or the order in which they appear as long as the statutory information is covered.
